TIDE is a community based non-profit organisationE delivers a range of Australian Government programs that provide assistance and support to Aboriginal people including: Indigenous Community Links - Linking Aboriginal people to all types of services and assistance they may need. Working on Country Rangers Program - Providing Aboriginal land management and natural resource teams servicing the mid north coast from Port Stephens to Port Macquarie and inland to Barrington Tops. Customers include NPWS, local councils, Local Land Services, Aboriginal organisations, LandCare and private landholders. Parent and Community Engagement Program - Supporting the retention of Aboriginal students in schools in Taree, Wingham and Gloucester. Driving Change - Assisting with driving licenses and driver training for Aboriginal and other disadvantaged people.

Purfleet-Taree Local Aboriginal Lands Council was constituted in accordance with the provisions of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act, 1983 as amended and administers the relevant provisions of that Act as they apply to the functions listed under Aims and Objectives. This Act provides that the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs may, by notice published in the Government Gazette, constitute an area as an Aboriginal Land Council Area
