Cairns Discovery Tours is a local tour company owned and operated by myself, Maryanne Jacques. I was born in Adelaide, lived in Darwin, Alice Springs and Melbourne before moving to Cairns in 1995. I see myself now as a local. I have been in tourism all my life, over 40 years. I worked for Cairns Discovery Tours from 1997 in sales for 8 years before starting my own tour company Adventure North Australia in 2005 operating tours to Cooktown and Indigenous Cultural experiences. I recently sold the company in May 2019. I was so excited when the previous owner advised he was selling and I proudly bought Cairns Discovery Tours in 2012.
