North Australian Helicopters has been operating throughout Australia's northern areas for over Seventeen years, being Territory owned and operated by Milton Jones since commencement of operations in 1993. North Australian Helicopters commenced with one Robinson (R)44 in 1993 then by 2000 had accumulated four Robinson R44 s and twelve Robinson R22 s with the purchase of the Australian Agricultural Company helicopter division and Mount Isa base in late 2000, acquiring a further seven Robinson R22 s In July 2009 North Australian Helicopters purchased the Darwin based company Albatross Helicopters further increasing the fleet by twelve helicopters. The fleet today is a total of forty helicopters; operating across North Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia. Our large fleet consists of twenty-six (26) Robinson R22 s, ten (10) Robinson R44 s, four (4) Bell 206 Jetrangers and one (1) Bell 206 Longranger which of the three (3) larger types are all fitted with external Load capabilities allowing us to cover all lines of work throughout most industries in the North. North Australian Helicopters work closely with government departments, mining industry and corporate and civil bodies and has secured substantial contracts right across Northern Australia's towns, rural, remote and isolated areas. North Australian Helicopters, well known as NAH, services mining, gas and rural companies in Western Queensland such as Xstrata, Legend Mining, Mount lsa Mines, APT Gas Pipeline and Australian Agriculture Company which carry over 500,000 thousand head of cattle. NAH also work with various shire councils with emergency response and evacuations during both wet and dry season operations and recently contributed to the search and rescue operations in Queensland during the recent floods.
