Based in Red Hill, Brisbane, Side Gallery, adjacent to design agency Designfront, has been showcasing the works of emerging and established artists, illustrators, photographers, and designers since June 2015. Owner Leesa Hickey, also the Director of Designfront, passionately fosters artistic talent and builds relationships with representing galleries. Since first opening its doors in 1986 the Gallery has remained at the same premises, in a quaint little ‘red’ building with a green awning, property over a century old that has become a part of Brisbane’s historical fabric.
