Hi I'm Cheree, and I'm a qualified Art Therapist, HH Dip (A.TH.) and member with IICT. In the past 3 yrs I took a new turn in my life and began a journey in personal development, learning about self help, mental health, behaviours and how are mental models can determine our outcomes. From here I discovered the power of Art Therapy. Art therapy is about achieving goals and learning how, where and why our thoughts are developed. It is a way of expressing feelings in a creative way often without words. I'm also continuing my knowledge and studying a Diploma of Counselling with AIPC (Australians Institute of Professional Counsellors). I'm extremely passionate about helping others and I believe Art Therapy can be beneficial in our journey towards healing or understanding where we are going in our life. Unique Kids Clinic offers multidisciplinary services for Paediatric therapy in the Illawarra. Unique Kids Clinic offers Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Art Therapy in a purpose built custom clinic for Paediatric therapy. The primary goals of an Occupational Therapist when working with children is to improve their functional performance across all environments and enhance their capacity to interact within their physical and social environments. The Occupational Therapists at the clinic provide intervention for children with the following: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Attention disorders such as ADD/ADHD, Neurological impairments including cerebral palsy, Learning delay, Behavioural challenges, Fine and gross motor challenges, Developmental Dyspraxia, Global Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder Physiotherapists main goal is to improve and maintain children's optimal function whether it be recovering from a sporting injury or improving gross motor function for clients with physical impairments or gross motor delays. The Physiotherapists at the clinic can provide therapy for: Physical developmental and gross motor issues: including children and teenagers with Cerebral Palsy, Brain injury, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Musculoskeletal disorders for example, Scoliosis, Scheuermanns, Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome, Severs Disease, Sinding Larsing, Os Good Schlatters, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. Pre and post orthopaedic surgery: for example, anterior cruciate ligament repairs. Acute and overuse sporting injuries: for example, ligament sprains, dislocations, rehabilitation post fractures including avulsion injuries and stress fractures. Clinical Pilates: individual sessions or group classes. Each person participating in Clinical Pilates will have an individual program developed based on an initial assessment. Art Therapy allows children to express their feelings through art, utilise imagination and creativity to problem solve and to develop healthy coping skills and resilience. No artistic ability required/all materials provided. Sessions can be provided with one on one sessions or via a group setting and cal also be conducted in client's home or school environment where appropriate.
