Many of our Australian birds have declined to very low numbers and are now rarely seen. Our native birds spend a lot of time feeding on the ground where feral cats and foxes can easily catch them to eat. Also habitat loss is not only the trees or grasses for nesting, but in some cases their complete food source disappears.
