We've compiled a general guide for your reference, but if you're still unsure, give us a call on 0418 800 018 and Andrew will help you sort it out. You will need to call a plumber if: 1. There is no water coming from your taps; 2. You have low water pressure; 3. Your water heater is leaking; or 4. Rusty or dirty water is coming from your taps. If there is water coming out of your tap but it is cold or lukewarm, you'll probably need to call an electrician.

cl08zel2q000g09l892s43p7q How to pass water use charges to your tenant

Valid Invalid date - Invalid date

In Queensland, tenants can be made responsible for water consumption at the property they’re renting. There are a number of guidelines around this however, such as: 1. The property must be individually metered 2. The rental property must be “water efficient” 3. The tenancy agreement must state that the tenant needs to pay for water consumption For the property to be deemed “water efficient” the lessor/agent must be able to demonstrate the presence of water efficient devices, such as providing a copy of a WELS certificate - only able to be issued by a licensed plumber (like Newk's Plumbing).

cl08z7a5a002009m952rp2si6 Why your property could have low water pressure

Valid Invalid date - Invalid date

Your property has low water pressure. What should you do? Firstly, check if all your taps and outlets have a similar problem. If only one or two taps have low pressure, the aerators may be blocked and need a clean. If all taps (including external taps) have low water pressure then there could be a problem with the meter, the water service from the meter to the house, or the pipe work external of the property and it is best to call a qualified plumber. Low water pressure from your pipes is commonly caused by old, corroded, gal pipes, an obstruction in the line or an undetected water leak.

Valid Invalid date - Invalid date

So, you’ve decided to rent out your property. Here are five plumbing checks you should make before listing your investment property as “ready for rent”. 1. Tempering valve on your hot water system By law, each hot water unit needs a tempering valve. 2. Taps and fixtures meet water efficiency compliance If you want to pass on council water use charges to your tenant, you must ensure all taps and fixtures are WELS (Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards) compliant. 3. Gutters and downpipes are clean 4. Install exhaust fan in bathrooms 5. Check there are no leaks or blockages

cl08ydakx001i0amhhnu3d23f High water bill - Gympie Regional Council rates

Valid Invalid date - Invalid date

If you have an unusually high water bill on your rates, you may have a water leak. Before calling a plumber, check all of your taps for leaks and make sure no toilets are running through. Turn off the main tap on the street side of your water meter and record the meter reading. Make sure no one at your property uses water for an hour and check if the water meter has changed. If the reading is different, call a plumber as you may have an undetected leak. Property owners who have had an undetected water leak can apply for a once-off allowance of up to 50% of excess water use charges

Had a really bad blockage in the pipe from our bathroom to our grey water tank. Phoned Antony late on Thursday afternoon and he arrived to do the job early Friday morning. Had everything on board to do the job quickly and efficiently.
