At Fur-Mum Pet Care we understand that pets are family, and that is how we run our business. When you have to go out of town, locking your pets up in a large kennel facility can be extremely stressful, so we offer an alternative: your pets are cared for in a home. Depending on your pet's needs, they can be fostered in a home where they are treated like family, or cared for in their own home. Dogs in-house: Currently dogs have morning play time in a large fenced yard, followed by a bit of RnR on the couches of the breezy balcony. Afternoon brings a trip to the dog-park section of the beach (off-lead if they can be trusted) for a frolic and a swim, then home for a yummy dinner and some cuddles while Fur-Mum watches MKR. We try to keep their standard rules close to those at home. If they are allowed inside, or on the couch at home, they can come in for a cuddle at Fur-Mum's. If they need baths, nail-clips, medicine or a haircut, those are all options we can accommodate. We don't generally like to isolate dogs at Fur-Mum's, and they usually settle into having other dogs around fairly easily, but rest easy knowing they are never left alone unsupervised with any strange dogs. Cats in-house: Cats usually like to have lots of hiding places, and depending on their personality, they might not like to roam the entire house. We start the kitties in our care in the cat room. This is a dedicated air-conditioned bedroom full of cat toys, cardboard boxes, cubbies and high shelves. There are plenty of spots for window watching, and a nice comfy recliner for Fur-Mum to hang out in while she's reading a book or using her lap-top until the cats are accustomed to her presence. Once the cats are feeling comfortable enough to be curious, it's play time. We like to keep them interested and active with dangly toys, laser pointers and the occasional dose of catnip. Once the cats are tuckered out, we can have some cuddles or go on an adventure to one of the other cat areas. We have the 'catio', a fully enclosed verandah where the cats can watch the world go by, and an outdoor enclosure in the tropical garden, full of climbing logs, where cats can indulge in a little bird watching, or even chasing the little insects that sneak in under the fence while basking in the fresh air and sunshine. If we have cats from different households, they are kept separate unless under direct supervision. Other Pets: Fur-Mum doesn't only love the fur-babies, she has experience with birds, rodents, fish and reptiles as well. If the animal is in a cage or tank that can be transported - bring it over, if not, we have a range of cages and tanks here that may be suitable. Otherwise we can work out a mobile package for your needs. Mobile Packages: If your pets aren't exactly social, and they would be more comfortable at home, we are pleased to accommodate this as well. Packages can be tailored to your pets needs, from a quick pop-by for feeding and litter cleaning, an hour of play and cuddles, to scheduled outings to the beach or nature trail. At All For Paws Pet Retreat, we treat all our guests like we would like our personal pets to be treated.
