The existing large galleries in Toowoomba primarily catered to professional artists with large exhibitions, leaving a gap for local artists and emerging talent. In 2014, a group of dedicated volunteers from the Heights Community Centre joined forces with the cooperation of the Wilsonton Shopping Centre to create a non-profit, volunteer-run art gallery right within the shopping center.
