Our Club was formed on Australia Day 26th January 1989 by our Mother Club, West Gosford, to serve the rapidly growing Kariong and Mountains area of the Central Coast, with the approval of then District Governor, John Lang OAM. The Club had its charter night at Old Sydney Town which was to be our home for the next 11 years. With Old Sydney Town approaching closure a new home was needed for the Club. In 2001, the Phillip House complex in the State owned Mount Penang Parklands at Kariong was offered as a venue for a community organisation to refurbish and open up as a facility for the whole community. Our Club submitted a tender and was offered a lease on the buildings on this basis. Since then we have poured in many hours and funds to make it a home not only for ourselves but a venue for many other community groups and as a hall available for a variety of functions.

Located just minutes from the M1 and about an hour’s drive from Sydney, The Entertainment Grounds (home of Gosford Race Club), is the premier events precinct on the Central Coast. Tamburlaine is Australia's largest producer of organic wines, although not a large winery in world terms. The winery was established in 1966 in the renowned Pokolbin district of the Hunter Valley. In 1985, a small group of friends and relatives, led by Managing Director and Chief Winemaker, Mark Davidson,purchased the Pokolbin, Hunter Valley winery and vineyard from its founder, Dr Lance Allen. Ten years later, in 1995, Tamburlaine expanded its production and quality base through the acquisition of prime vineyard land in the emerging cool climate Orange wine region in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales. Up to 70% of the annual production now comes from Orange.
