Tumut Baptist Church is a group of believers who join together in fellowship, biblical teaching and a belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. Tumut is situated in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. The name Tumut is thought to be derived from a Wiradjuri word 'doomut' or 'doomat', which means either 'camping ground' or 'quiet resting place by the river'. Residents enjoy lovely scenery, tree lined streets and river walks. Annual events include the Festival of the Falling Leaf, Batlow Apple Blossom Festival, Batlow Ciderfest, and the Tumut Rodeo. Tumut enjoys four distinct seasons with a range of activities for each season.
