I offer counselling for your Self and/or for your Loved Ones. The type of counselling I offer is holistic, solution-focused and trauma-informed. It is a combination of evidence-based neuroscience and polyvagal theory intertwined with ancient wisdom from many philosophies/spiritual traditions across the world with the main focus being supporting you to access your own inner wisdom in your body, mind, heart & spirit. When appropriate I like to use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, NLP and attachment theory / abandonment wound healing (for the inner sense of shame, the internal dialogue of �I'm not good enough'). Starting Now Clinical Psychology Services has a mission to provide quality services to children and adolescents, adults and couples with a view to facilitating positive change. All psychological treatments provided are evidence based, meaning that they have been developed with sound theory, effective research and are proven through clinical trials to be effective. After a thorough assessment, all clients are given information about the type of therapy they will be provided, and how treatment will work. A plan including the client’s goals will be developed and worked through to achieve therapeutic outcomes. Once treatment is complete, assessments are again completed to feedback to the client and the referral source the levels of change achieved. If the therapy process does not appear to be working, clients are encouraged to be honest and discuss their progress, so that therapy can be adjusted accordingly. Andrew is a highly skilled counsellor with extensive experience in helping people work through their struggles in life. He has a Masters degree in Counselling and is professionally accredited through the peak counselling body PACFA. Andrew works with individuals and couples and draws on years of experience to make clients feel safe, heard and valued. Andrew listens empathically while he tries to understand and feel what it’s like to walk in his client’s shoes. He believes in adapting his approach to the uniqueness of the client using evidence-based therapy such as ACT, which helps to create more psychological flexibility; CBT which helps a person overcome mental obstacles to healing, and EFT which allows a person to safely resolve emotional pain."
