Kith and Kin offer Centre based, Community based and in home support to people with a disability and/or people with a mental illness in Townsville and Surrounding areas. We enable people to have fun, form friendships and enable them to experience exciting new opportunities. With our support people with a disability and/or mental illness are able to learn and develop new skills to live a life of personal triumphs, individual success recovery and reward.

PoDDSS provides support coordination and behavioural support for people with a disability through NDIS funding. Support coordination is an NDIA program that helps participants build a network of funded supports to realise their goals and live a connected life within their community. The participant can select their preferred coordinator who will help manage other supports and relationships. Behavioural support provides structured behavioural assessments under the Disability Act 2006. These assessments offer proactive and reactive strategies, as well as Positive Behavioural Support Plans (PBSP), for those under NDIS funding. This may also involve training of formal and informal supports, providing sensory advice or assisting the primary person to access other communication that supports social skills, independence and progress towards their life goals and aspirations. The social skills program involves picture-based communication, role play, mindfulness exercises and small group learning situations. Our training programs are available for anyone who wishes to have a foundation knowledge and understanding to providing support. We also offer mentoring for people requiring assistance or supervision when meeting support needs.
