Since joining AS&RS (Disability Services) in 2014 and earning her Cert IV in Disability, Amanda has been working in the disability support industry. She has also gained experience working with several well-known support companies. Amanda's personal life experience, including having a daughter with Cerebral Palsy and Intellectual Impairment, has made her realize the lack of quality staff in the industry. This inspired her to make a positive change. Mark, on the other hand, has been a paint sales representative for over 20 years. Despite this, he started studying his Cert III in Individual Support in 2020 and is close to completing it. Mark has a natural talent for working with individuals with disabilities and quickly establishes a connection with them. Additionally, he has extensive experience coaching football. Together, Amanda and Mark form Comfort N Care Support Qld Pty Ltd. Unlike many other support companies, they are both directors and hands-on support workers. They, along with their team, make it a point to personally know each client by name and face. By keeping their business small, they ensure that their clients' needs are never overlooked. Although they have a pool of exceptional support workers, they recognize that not all of them are suitable for new clients. To address this, they employ support workers who share similar interests with their clients on an as-needed basis. This approach has been successful for them thus far.
