With a passion for nature/wildlife and the goldfields heritage of Victoria, Andrew Grant founded Golden Nugget Discovery Tours, located in Ballarat, Victoria in 2003 to give tourists wildlife and heritage touring experiences of the goldfields region of Victoria. Since our beginnings, we have expanded our touring experiences to include the Great Ocean Road, Daylesford & Spa country, Grampians National Park, The Murray region, South western Southern Ocean Coast, the desert National Parks of Outback Victoria, the Wimmera Silo Art Trail and wine tours of the Pyrenees & Grampians wine regions. Andrew is your perfect guide; he graduated in Ecotourism from the Ballarat University, and has years of experience and knowledge of the history, flora, fauna, geology and Aboriginal culture of the areas visited. Our tour vehicle is a 6 seat 4WD, offering small group touring. We can take you off the beaten tourist route, and show you the real Australia. See nature in the wild, meet the locals, and enjoy local wines & food. Minimum number for our tours is 1 person, and if you are a larger group, we can arrange a vehicle to carry up the 24 passengers. The business is a member of Ecotourism Australia, we are a Green Travel Leader, selections of our tours are Ecotourism Certified by Ecotourism Australia. We are also members of the local tourism authorities. We were awarded the Winner of the CGU Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Tourism Award in 2007, and a Finalist in the same Awards in 2008.
