The Rhodes Grass variety we have selected is Mariner, which has been specially bred for the wet tropics. It has a higher leaf-to-stem ratio than most other Rhodes varieties. All hay is super conditioned and not baled till average moisture levels are down to 13%. As insurance, a U.S.-developed preservative is incorporated within the bale to prevent any mould from forming while softening the hay and making it more palatable for stock. In addition, all Rhodes grass is fertilised after each cut and is free of any weeds. Finally, all hay. is independently tested. We strive to do the best we can.
