As the Burdekin is one of the most productive farming areas in Australia, there is an abundance of seasonal work available from fruit and vegetable picking, packing in sheds, general farm work, and bar work. Their bartender Tamika was very helpful and patient. We passed through last week and decided to stop in at Malpass Hotel for a bite to eat. They have very friendly staff and great value meals.

We stayed here in July 2017. Great local outback pub, clean place and quiet location. There are only 5 units at the hotel and they are very basic but we found them extremely clean and comfortable. There are no TV's in the rooms which was a bonus for us also no internet. Very friendly owners. There was a band on at the Hotel on the Saturday night. The average age of the group was mid 60's but they were absolutely awesome! We had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.

Lunch in the cafe and a lovely dinner in the bistro Bowls Club was good and reasonably priced. The staff were very incredibly nice and obliging. Would certainly recommend eating at the Bowls Club if staying in Tweed Heads
