Crater Lakes Rainforest Cottages is a romantic getaway and a nature lover's paradise. The property is situated on the border of the World Heritage listed Lake Eacham National Park. Walk around the lake or take a swim in her safe, pristine waters. We are less than 10 minutes from the historical town of Yungaburra, which has award winning restaurants and a small supermarket. Our cottages are individually and tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home. Plus lots of little extras to spoil you; wood fire heater (it is cooler here than on the coast), air-conditioning, spa bath, king bed, candles, flowers and complimentary port and chocolates. A huge country breakfast hamper for your first morning is provided. From your private balcony you will encounter cute wallabies, Victoria's Rifle Bird, Cat Birds and much more wildlife. Of the 760 bird species in Australia, more than 300 can be found on the Tablelands and many endemic species are seen from the cottages. Let the wildlife come to you.

We (3 families - 6 adults and 6 children) spent a week at Poinciana Lodge in mid-December and had a lovely time. The home was able to accommodate all of us with ease and without ever feeling like we were on top of one another as there are numerous living spaces, both indoors and out. During our stay we found we rarely had to use the air-conditioning as the house has good cross-ventilation and lots of ceiling fans. We generally only turned the air-con on to cool the children's rooms down to get them off to sleep and then switched them off later in the evening. David, the host, was very helpful in greeting us on arrival and showing us through the property. There were beautiful floral arrangements, a welcome hamper plus a 'starter pack' of items in the fridge such as milk, butter, bread. As it was close to Christmas, there was even a gorgeous Christmas tree which was lovely for the children. The house is very handy to the airport but with location comes noise so expect to hear the first plane in the morning and the last plane at night but after our first night there they really didn't bother us. In face, we actually all enjoyed watching the planes and guessing which airline it was flying over. Poinciana Lodge is also in a really convenient location to access all areas of Cairns; an easy drive down to the city centre (David can give you the locals short cut), Kuranda Skyrail, northern beaches and local restaurants along Collins Avenue. The cafes and restaurants on Collins Avenue were a real surprise with our favourites being "Noa" for dinner (dined there twice) and cafe "Ten One Twenty" for breakfast and coffees. So if you want to really feel like you're staying in the tropics without leaving all the conveniences of city living, then Poinciana Lodge is where you need to be.

Pet-friendly accommodation situated on the southern end of the Atherton Tablelands. We do not cater for children; however, we do cater for your favourite fur friend. Our accommodations are scattered throughout our 7 acres of rainforest with walking tracks, platypus viewing areas and a puppy play park. The best accommodations are our cottages with spa baths, king-size beds, kitchenette and a private balcony nestled on the banks of the Millstream River. With easy access to all of the local attractions on the Tablelands, you will enjoy sight-seeing for the day to then return to our tranquil surroundings. We offer our day spa for a range of massage and hydrotherapy treatments with a great range of luxury body treatments available. Health Fund Rebates are available for some of the treatments on offer. All treatments must be pre-booked. We have accommodation with a price range to suit everyone. Bookings are essential.

A really great experience at the end of our little tablelands trip. Gwen was very accommodating, flexible and reasonable fitting us in on such short notice. And dammit but the massage was relaxing. Gwen absolutely shows off her experience in her practice and comes with heaps of knowledge, even giving us tips on how we can address certain pains in everyday life. Will definitely make it a regular thing each tablelands trip. Thanks heaps Gwen :)

Was nice little roomy cabin and will be going back too stay 2-3days. I'm from Atherton so I enjoy the rainforest. If I don't get too the rainforest then I'm either out bush or at the beach. Thank you staff at Kuranda caravan Park.
