A typical Gracie Barra student starts with an introductory class, where he or she will learn the overall self-defense strategy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and afterwards start in the Gracie Barra GB1 (Fundamentals) Program. After four (4) months of training and learning the techniques comprising the GB1’s curriculum, the student will then progress into the Gracie Barra GB2 Program. During our classes, you will find that the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are based on leverage and do not require strength or speed.
