Our Programs We understand families live a very busy lifestyle. At Star Kids Tutoring we try to bring private tuition back to basics by offering our clients a selection of programs. Literacy We cater for students who need extra support in spelling, reading and writing. We include intensive phonics programs for students who have very poor spelling skills. All aspects of English are provided, ranging from reading comprehension, creative writing, persuasive writing, spelling development, listening and speaking skills and viewing. School Holiday Programs We have intensive holiday programes for Primary and High School students. Essay Writing, Creative Writing, Automated Times Tables, Reading Support, Algebra and Study Skills courses available. NAPLAN We have a wide range of resources available to help students prepare for the NAPLAN tests. These include past test papers and practice questions. School Readiness Program Weekly classes focus on the pre-literacy skills, language proficiency, fine and gross motor control, proper handwriting skills, and pre-mathematical skills all rising Kindergarten students need. Correct handwriting skills, pre-emergent/ emergent literacy skills are important to learn correctly at a young age so bad habits are not formed. Maths We have set programs for students that cover number, measurement, space, chance and data, algebra and mathematical relationships. Students learn to apply skills to mathematical problems at a mastery level. Selective School Preparation This program is for children who are planning to sit a Selective School Exam. The program includes; Practice exams, test technique, question style analysis, time management skills, self-correction techniques and study skills.
