Dr. Emma Moffatt, a dedicated and experienced physician and a proud community member, leads our clinic. Originally a registered nurse and midwife, Dr. Emma completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland. She has a rich background in the medical field, having worked across New South Wales and now serving the New England/Northwest region since 2014. In 2018, Dr. Emma fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning a rural G.P. practice, finding the perfect fit with our clinic in Manilla. Here, she enjoys the diverse range of medical cases she encounters daily, continuous learning opportunities, and the privilege of caring for patients from admission to discharge. Dr. Emma is a certified DAME in aviation medicine and is particularly interested in aged care and palliative care, medical leadership, and chronic disease management. Our clinic offers various services, including general health check-ups, mental health support, vaccinations, minor surgery, skin checks, aviation medicals, women’s health services, and chronic disease management. We’re proud to serve Manilla and the surrounding areas of Barraba and Gunnedah. Rural Medical Clinic is committed to providing quality healthcare in a warm, welcoming environment. Darrin is a Registered Psychologist also working as a school counsellor in primary and secondary NSW Dept of Education public schools in and around Orange. Darrin was previously the Centre Manager for headspace Bathurst, Lithgow, and Cowra. Darrin is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Darrin has had a broad range of work and life experiences. Darrin is currently offering a limited number of after hours appointments, both on Saturday mornings, and from 5 to 6pm on weekdays. All appointments are 60 minutes long. Darrin offers both face-to-face in-clinic appointments or online video telehealth appointments.

I'm Claire, a mother of two school-aged children, and a professional counsellor. I have previous experience in the mental health sector, working with severe mental illness and psychosocial disability in my early career. I have worked with people across the lifespan, from ages 4 into their late 60's and beyond. My passion lies in supporting children to overcome obstacles, develop life skills and live to their full potential, as well as supporting parents to build their self-care to ensure the best outcomes for the whole family. I provide support and solutions with the best interest of the client at heart. If you or your child would benefit from non-judgemental support, information and education to build the happiest, healthiest life possible, then i'm here for you. I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association (level 1) and adhere to the ethical requirements of registration as a professional counsellor, including ongoing professional development and clinical supervision. I am also trained to facilitate children's mindfulness interventions both individually and in a group setting.
