Cairns Voice Studio Director & Owner Keesha Mclean is a highly motivated vocal coach with 20 years of professional vocal coaching in London, UK and now in Cairns, Australia. Keesha has a strong track record of motivating and inspiring vocalists sing to their full potential. Many performing professionally across the UK, Europe, West End production and now in FNQ, Australia. Keesha continues to research and evolve her own vocal pedagogy by networking and mentoring with voice specialists Nationally and in London. Focus is on Voice Craft, awareness and understanding of the Vocal Anatomy & Health before Artistry and Performance Magic. Our philosophy is to create a healthy and flexible instrument for a long, fulfilling vocal career, whether personal or professional, in a non-judgemental and non-aesthetic bias environment. A healthy voice should be agile and strong with the flexibility to sing through all genres of music. The voice should work efficiently & effectively without fatigue or trauma. This is achieved through a deep understanding and awareness of Vocal Craft and Anatomy. Kinesthetic awareness is key. Each voice is bespoke and it is entirely the vocalist's choice as to what genre of vocal music they would like to sing. The understanding and awareness of Vocal Craft and Anatomy gives the vocalist plenty of choice and options to explore and play with their voice, and understand their own unique instrument. Each vocalist's journey is different. Some can take longer than others, and this is OK! With the high demands of vocalists and performers today, strong focus on Vocal Craft is key before interpretation, artistry and performance. It is a liberating feeling to have the choice and control to sing across all styles of music or your own favourite song! Keesha Mclean - Director, continues to research and evolve in vocal pedagogy through mentoring and networking sessions with vocal specialists nationally and in London. Cairns Voice Studio coach all styles and genres of vocal music from musical theatre, contemporary, pop, rock, jazz to classical. Keesha currently lectures voice, at CQU University, Cairns and has completed participation in Three Estill Voice International Voice Craft Level 1 & 2 Courses in Melbourne & Sydney and completed the Estill Voice International Certificate Of Proficiency. Keesha recently completed a Certificate of Proffesional and Creative Practise, CQU University. Cairns Voice Studio covers regional Far North Queensland from Cooktown, Tablelands to Townsville. Our gorgeous historic school of 230 students, is located in the picturesque village of Yungaburra. Yungaburra, which is situated in the historic heart of the Atherton Tablelands (a little more than an hour’s drive south west of Cairns in Far North Queensland), was established in 1890, and is listed by the National Trust of Queensland. Many of the original buildings can still be seen in the quaint village centre. Our town is not just known for its historical significance. The area is a haven for wildlife. Here you may see platypus, tree kangaroos, wallabies and a large variety of birds. Go on a nice walk along Peterson’s Creek near the town centre and who knows which rare Australian animal you may be lucky enough to see.
