North West Gymnastics has been promoting the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of our members in Mount Isa since 2008. Over time we know your children will benefit through general health, socially and through commitment, discipline, motor skills, balance, coordination and strength. North West Gymnastics prides its self on assisting in building a foundation of strong, honest, reliable, dedicated and confident individuals. North West Gymnastics is affiliated with Gymnastics Queensland and Gymnastics Australia. North West Gymnastics also proudly supports the Gymnastics Australia Club 10 program. Club 10 is Gymnastics Australia's quality assurance and risk management system for affiliated gymnastics clubs Australia wide. Clubs work through a series of checklists and application processes to move through the 5 levels of accreditation. Clubs are required to demonstrate compliance with all Club 10 National Standards through submission of documentation and evidence. All Gymnasts who enrol at the club are registered through Gymnastics Queensland and Gymnastics Australia. The registration charge changes from year to year and the current charges for registration are provided in the current tuition fee schedule for the year. Gymnastics Australia has in excess of 100,000 registered athlete members operating in over 550 Gymnastics clubs throughout Australia. Collectively, the strength in athlete numbers provides Gymnastics Australia with the opportunity to lobby the Australian Sports Commission for funding to conduct activities for all Gymsports. By becoming a member of Gymnastics Queensland (and in turn Gymnastics Australia) you are being counted as an active participant in Gymnastics and assisting Gymnastics Australia to meet your child's growing needs as an athlete. It is only when Gymnastics Australia knows who its members are, that it can actively contribute to improving the quality and standard of services to its members. Primarily Gymnastics Australia provides members with insurance coverage in the case of accident or injury. Jungle Gym (0 - 4 years) �Jungle Gym is Gymnastics Australia's movement-based learning experience for young children and their parents or caregivers. Children need as many opportunities as possible to optimise brain development and increase physical potential before they go to school. Jungle Gym provides a safe environment for children to develop physical skills in a fun and playful way, at their own rate. Educational research tells us that children learn best through exploring and discovering their abilities through physical activity. Very rewarding! Activebods (4 - 12 years) �All Gym Sports combined in this one class allowing members to enjoy the of the benefits North West Gymnastics has to offer. Active bods will provide learning opportunities to students that are: Fun yet challenging Inclusive of all Meaningful and relevant Open to exploration, giving the students the opportunity to show initiative, ownership and responsibility for their learning Positive, encouraging and build on participants self-esteem and confidence Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances. Very rewarding! WAG (Women's Artistic Gymnastics) Pre Levels (3 - 4 years) �An introductory to gymnastics levels for girls with previous/current attendance in NWG Jungle Gym. This class is very similar to Jungle Gym however require no parent involvement. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances. WAG Levels (4 - 5 years) �Gymnastics Levels for girls wishing enhance their skills and knowledge in women's gymnastics only. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances. WAG Levels 1 - 4 �Levels gymnastics for gymnasts with experience, skill knowledge and adequate conditioning preparation. For best results gymnasts are required to attend all classes. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances as well as Invitational Competitions out of Mount Isa. Possibility for qualification for Regional and State Championships. MAG (Men's Artistic Gymnastics) Levels (4 - 5 year olds) � Gymnastics Levels for boys aged 4-5years who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in Men's Gymnastics only. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances. MAG Levels 1 - 4 �Level 1 gymnastics for boys aged 6years and older who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in Men's Gymnastics only. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances as well as Invitational Competitions out of Mount Isa. Likelihood for qualification for Regional and State Championships. Senior WAG and MAG �Levels gymnastics for gymnasts with experience, skill knowledge and adequate conditioning preparation for Advance Levels in Women's and Men's Gymnastics. For best results gymnasts are required to attend all classes. Opportunity for in-house fun competitions/performances as well as Invitational Competitions out of Mount Isa. Likelihood for qualification for Regional and State Championships. Advanced Acro & Conditioning �Open to all dance students and gymnasts with adequate conditioning preparation to learn Advance Acro skills including aerials and handsprings. (Must be considered competent by a coach from Intermediate Acro). Adults Conditioning/Gymnastics �Gymnastics, Trampoline and Aerial Silks Gymnastics will improve performance in any other sport, as well as improving overall fitness and functional strength to a level that most people never attain. However, what many people don't realize is that extended participation in gymnastics classes also provides many additional cognitive and psychological benefits that will continue to benefit an individual throughout their life. These include: �Social interaction and discipline; �Improved mental focus and concentration; Education and an understanding of physics; Flexibility, balance and co-ordination; Numerous health benefits. Aerial Silks �Aerial Silks is an aerobic art performed on two strip of fabric hung from a single point The basics of the aerial silk involves a typical routine from a performer who climbs up a suspended fabric anywhere from 20-50 feet high, and uses the fabric to perform a combination of climbing, twisting, hanging. Wrapping, falling, swinging, spiral, and contort their body. Various tricks such as drops, upside-down splits, and flips make for a very exciting demonstration of human strength and agility. Opportunity for in-house performances. Trampoline �Trampoline and Tumbling skills. Trampoline Sports is the perfect sport to teach your �child safe and developmentally sound aerial skills, whilst also developing co-ordination and body awareness. Give your child the right start in life. Let them experience Trampoline Sports and watch them bounce their way to a happier, healthier life. �Develops confident body movement, both on and off the ground �Builds strength and prepares the body for challenges in life �Challenges the mind and body to reach new goals �Develops posture and agility, including the ability to land safely �Is conducted in safely equipped environments with accredited coaches Opportunity for in-house fun competitions. Poi/Hula/Slack line - Coming Soon �Poi is a form of dance, where weights on the ends of tethers are swung through rhythmical patterns many poi artists have borrowed from other disciplines, such as martial arts, club swinging, dance, and rhythmic gymnastics. Poi appeals to those who are looking for a dynamic and engaging physical activity that is less intense than martial arts or competitive sports. �Slacklining is a practice in balancing and co-ordination on a tightrope between two anchor points. It is dynamic, stretching and bouncing like a long and narrow trampoline. �Hula- Want some fun and fitness. Hooping exercises over 30 core muscles, improves balance, flexibility, dexterity and coordination, tones and reshapes the abdomen, buttocks, and legs with regular use. �Opportunity for in-house performances.
