BayFit is a Fitness and Wellbeing business located in Port Stephens, NSW on the east coast of Australia, (a few hours' drive north of Sydney), run by Debbie Freeman. I provide group exercise classes, primarily for the "more mature" population, those with chronic conditions and those who have not exercised in a while. BayFit "Heartbeat" classes are held at the Tomaree Library & Community Centre (Waratah Room) on Thursdays at 8am, 9am and 10am. BayFit Circuit Class for Over 50's are also held in the Waratah Room at 11am on Friday. BayFit's Purpose is to improve the health and wellbeing of the 50+ population in the Port Stephens community. I aim to achieve this by providing enjoyable and personalised exercise programs in a non-intimidating environment. Exercise classes are designed to cater to the unique needs of the mature market (both males and females) and for those with illnesses and chronic diseases who want/need to exercise, with support and motivation. Providing a personal, honest, caring approach that achieves results, I take ailments/injuries into consideration and suggest exercise options while ensuring that safety is a priority. Exercise programmes are varied and usually accompanied by old style music to keep it fun! Programmes include low to moderate intensity Cardiovascular routines, Strength/Resistance Training, Core, Balance and Flexibility. There are no membership fees for BayFit classes. $10 per class. I am a fully trained/qualified Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor (Cert III and Cert IV in Fitness, Group Exercise Attainment), as well as having completed several other fitness qualifications, such as Heartmoves and Mixed Martial Arts. Julie proved me wrong, she did a complete injury analysis, came up with a thorough treatment plan with a timeline of differing treatments, home stretches, and exercises to strength up all my muscle loss from being immobile for so long. She has decades of experience and puts so much care into her treatments. I can't praise her enough, if you want thorough, caring, evidence based practice, and years of experience then see Julie on Medowie Road and you will not be disappointed!”
