Based in Surat, the Surat & District Development Association Inc (SDDA) is a volunteer organisation founded in 1993. With a broad charter to identify, support, promote, and/or implement projects benefiting Surat and its community, the SDDA provides bookkeeping, insurance, and auditing cover for various subgroups. These include the Cobb & Co Store Museum Committee, Creative Hands & Minds, Men's Shed, Shutterbugs, and more. Additionally, the SDDA offers a 'business incubator' on their main street block, providing subsidised rent to new businesses.
