Warialda Public School was established in 1851, making it amongst the oldest in the state. The school services the township of Warialda and the surrounding rural areas in the Gwydir Shire. Its student population is 177, with more than half of the students travelling to school by bus. The school is well resourced with a spacious, well-grassed and well maintained playground in an attractive setting. It is staffed by a mixture of beginning and experienced teachers and support staff. There is a strong emphasis placed on literacy, numeracy and the integration of technology and higher order thinking skills. Warialda Public School offers a wide range of student based programs that promote quality education.

Quambone Public School provides a caring, supportive environment in which children are encouraged to develop positive skills, knowledge and attitudes. This is done through a variety of experiences, progressing towards the full attainment of their potential as thinking individuals and effective members of society and achieve academically according to their individual abilities, attitudes and interests. To this end, the school provides a balanced, stimulating education, catering to the needs of the individual student by provision of individual education programs.

Gulargambone Central School (GCS) caters to the learning needs of students from Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12). It is located 120km north of Dubbo between Gilgandra and Coonamble and is a member of the Bourke School Education Group. The school's remote rural setting allows direct access to many practical, employment oriented learning situations and to unique environmental settings. Students are drawn from the township itself and from rural properties in the surrounding district. Enrolments in recent years are around 70, with approximately 75% of students identify as Aboriginal. As an inclusive and comprehensive school, GCS plays a highly significant role in the local community. It provides a context within which the various diverse groups within the community meet and work together. The community has a strong sense of ownership, empowerment and participation in the functioning of the school. The school is well resourced and receives vital additional financial support from the Country Areas Programme (CAP), Norta-Norta, Priority Schools Programme (PSP) and Low Socio-Economic Status (Low SES) Funding. Our recently completed Trade Training Centres will allow us to extend our provision of career oriented courses.
