Gold City Solar & Electrical owner Scott Ellison comes from a long line of electrical contractors. Scott's father ran an electrical contracting business in Gympie and his grandfather was an electrical contractor in Brisbane. Not only did he grow up with it, but Scott has been working in the electrical industry for 20+ years and is passionate about helping residential and commercial people understand their rising electricity bills and working with them to reduce them. In 2007, Scott completed a course in electrical contracting and later a Certificate IV in Grid Connected Solar Design and Installation. Scott and his wife Melinda started running their business together 13 years ago and Scott believes their success can be attributed to their emphasis on working as a team. 'Melinda handles the phone calls and all the accounting side of the business and I do the work. We work together as a team,' he said. Scott strives to offer people in the Gympie region something different to other businesses in the solar industry that are often members of a franchise and contracted to sell certain products. 'We are a locally owned and operated business so we can tailor our systems to suit the customer's needs and budget.' And because I have a full design license I can design the system to get the best outcome for the customer.' Outside of running the business Scott and Melinda have two teenage boys who keep them busy.

I have 29 years of broad electrical experience and knowledge ranging from large construction of commercial and industrial, to specialising in residential domestic electrical, property maintenance, air conditioning, solar and light commercial, for the past 22 years. We are continually up-skilling to meet compliance with the latest safety rules and regulations. We are fully licensed in electrical, electrical contracting and air conditioning. We also have accreditation in solar design and installation, accredited digital TV and phone cablers license. I pride my business on electrical knowledge, safety, compliance, quality advice, with customer satisfaction and friendly service, instilling a great relationship with our customers.
