About
Global Testing is a licensed soil testing company specialising in site classification and wastewater disposal investigation. We test six days a week in the South Burnett, Darling Downs and Mackay regions. Licensed by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), we carry out Mackay soil testing work in accordance with Australian standards and local government requirements. Site classification involves a site survey and sampling and testing of site materials, taking into account moisture levels (Atterberg Limits testing), particle distribution and field strength tests. We then classify the building site and prepare plans, specifications and documents for onsite wastewater management. Soils can �swell� when wet and shrink when dry. The presence of buildings and driveways impacts on the evaporation of water from the site. The resulting soil swelling can damage concrete slabs and foundation footings, leading to further issues such as cracking interior walls, broken pipes and problems with doors and windows failing to open and close properly. Testing soils prior to construction enables you to modify the content of �expansive� soils (adding sand, for example), incorporate surface and subsurface drainage and landscape accordingly to reduce moisture near the building foundations. Our specialty at Global Testing is fast turnaround of Site Classification (soil tests) reports for commercial and domestic buildings. We can complete a typical house site investigation, from start to finish, within five to seven work days.
