He has experience working for and with Government contracts and maintaining large mining accommodation camps. Scott's father ran an electrical contracting business in Gympie and his grandfather was an electrical contractor in Brisbane. Not only did he grow up with it, but Scott has been working in the electrical industry for 20+ years and is passionate about helping residential and commercial people understand their rising electricity bills and working with them to reduce them. In 2007, Scott completed a course in electrical contracting and later a Certificate IV in Grid Connected Solar Design and Installation. Scott and his wife Melinda started running their business together 13 years ago and Scott believes their success can be attributed to their emphasis on working as a team. 'Melinda handles the phone calls and all the accounting side of the business and I do the work. We work together as a team,' he said.
