Yandina State School is a growing school of approximately 350 students located on School Road, Yandina. The school prides itself on over 135 years of education and community involvement. Our school motto ‘Together we Grow’ is underpinned by our three values - Family, Friendship, Future. We are a school that promotes Reading and we are enacting the Australian Curriculum. Our staff are highly skilled, experienced and dedicated to making a positive difference to the students' academic learning, physical and emotional wellbeing and social emotional growth. Yandina State School creates a safe, supportive school environment through the application of the school wide positive behaviour program based on our school rules 'I am safe', 'I am respectful' and 'I am a learner'. Yandina State School is part of the North Coast Region and is a co-educational facility catering for students from Prep Year to Year 6. Class organisation comprises mainly of single-age (straight) year levels and a small number of composite classrooms. In 2023 students are allocated across 15 classes.

As a new principal to Maleny I was overwhelmed to see so many people return from all around the globe with the common theme being that their school days in Maleny were, 'the best days of their lives. At Maleny we value family ideals and strive to create a warm, supportive, school climate that promotes a sense of belonging and encourages students to be motivated self-regulated learners. We recognise that education of the whole child is essential and that as learners children are at all different stages. Our students perform well academically and thrive in our extension GEMS Program that stimulates and challenges children to be the best they can in writing, maths, science and art. Our vision is to ensure all children are connected learners and creative leaders. We boast a highly committed and skilful staff with a passion for ensuring optimal learning outcomes for our students. This combined with our highly supportive P&C, and local community enables us to form a solid high quality educational foundation and service. We have strong links with our neighbouring Maleny State High School and as a result students enjoy a successful and seamless transition into their secondary schooling.
