Originally a roasting house, Zarraffa’s Coffee first began operating from the backstreets of Southport on the Gold Coast, QLD. Back then, customers would come in for their daily coffee and enjoy a fresh brew while perched on a hessian bag full of green coffee beans that were yet to be roasted. From that first store in Southport on the Gold Coast, the Zarraffa’s Coffee business has evolved into an award-winning enterprise, now serving customers in over 70 locations across Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. Leading the way in retail coffee innovation, Zarraffa’s Coffee developed its popular drive thru store concept in 2009, providing customers with quality coffee and added convenience. The company’s expansion to the West Coast in 2012 enabled Zarraffa’s to introduce its unique blend of coffee to a whole new region of coffee lovers. The company now operates its network of stores and drive thru locations on both sides of the country, with expansion planned in these key geographical areas in the coming years. Zarraffa’s Coffee has fostered a culture where everyday customers can access great coffee and be a part of this Australian success story. Fletch and Kathleen O’Shanley bought the 120 year old hotel in December 2003. 'The Hotel is a little piece of Ireland in Australia' as visiting Irish Ambassador Declan Kelly described it. Just like the Emerald Isles O’Shanleys have Irish music, atmosphere, authentic Irish food, and most important plenty of Irish craic. There is always plenty of ice cold Guinness and Kilkenny flowing. The rooms are crisp and comfy. They consist of Double and Family Rooms. Book well in advance for weekends. Spacious parking area for Hotel patrons The Bar and Restaurant is adorned with thousands of pieces of Irish and Australian memorabilia. Plus inspect one of the largest teapot collections in QLD. Live music every Saturday night. Our bands facilitate all musical tastes from Country/Irish/Rock and Roll and Karaoke.

The Chocolate Cottage Café began in April 1997 from lifelong dreams of Kaye wanting to start a chocolate shop and teahouse and husband Colin owning his own restaurant. Our idea was to create a haven from the stresses of the outside world, somewhere to immerse yourself in. The restored 1877 original Highfields school house was the perfect place for our plans. From humble beginnings, we have literally grown with passion and hard work, producing all the chocolates in-house. The cafe now seats 230 and serves meals 6 days per week from 8.00am to 4pm. Over the years six other cottage businesses have been set up to add to the many things to explore. A destination with an amazing experience awaits you. Situated on a grassy acreage overlooking unsurpassed views of the Toowoomba Range, the cafe has plenty of room for the family with shaded outdoor seating and warm indoor dining around a fireplace throughout winter. The handpainted chairs, colourful décor and quirky giftware provides a perfect environment to indulge in our handmade chocolates, award winning cuisine and Lavazza coffee.
