The Yellow Door Kitchen is dedicated to educating people about food with a focus on teaching skills and techniques so you can confidently adapt recipes and be creative using the amazing array of seasonal ingredients available in Australia. Janet and her team of chefs offer a supportive and encouraging environment for cooks of all levels. Join our communal table to enjoy beautiful food and connect with others. Owner and Pastry Chef - Janet Newton The passion for baking and cooking started in childhood for Janet Newton. The long Christmas holidays she spent baking with Czechoslovakian family friend, Irene. During this time the family was provided with an endless supply of traditional tarts, slices, biscuits and cakes. The wonderful love of sharing food with family and friends was born out of these one on one cooking lessons and is the inspiration behind the opening of The Yellow Door Kitchen. Janet trained as Pastry Chef at the famous Le Cordon Bleu cooking school and has many years’ experience working in restaurants and patisseries. Her ability to combine flavours and her passion for baking is infectious and will ensure students are transported into a wonderful, creative world of cooking during her classes.
