From the barnstorming days of the country's oldest regional aero club, through the WW2 RAAF flying training school and a top-secret British bomber squadron, to the post-war Qantas and gliding eras. The uniquely designed museum building, with its roof reminiscent of an airfoil, is the result of some 6,000 hours of voluntary labour by Narromine Aero Club members and others. Great work by the members preserving some very important early Australian history and machines. Gilgandra Museum & Historical Society Inc is a very interesting museum. You'll need a couple of hours to view everything. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but my mates and I enjoyed the history and displays.

Carol says this wonderful museum is a must-see when in Tamworth. There are videos showing how Werris Creek played such an important part of the history of Australia. People who are interested in it and the Australian Railways should visit this place. Carol says she's very interested in this museum since she's an Australian who lives abroad. She wants to see how much the Werris Creek township played such a vital part of the history and this site should be promoted more. Carol says they've got wonderful volunteers too.
