Cakes with brightly coloured fondant (especially pinks and purples) should be kept in a darker environment if possible, as these colours are more likely to fade significantly. Cupcakes Cupcakes should NOT be stored in the fridge as they tend to dry out much quicker than larger cakes and lose their freshness. This may include (but is not limited to) wired flowers, fresh flowers, bling, internal support structure and figurines.
