I do not usually review a business as I know as a business owner how difficult it is to please everyone. After reading the 1 star review left by "Sophie" I felt compelled to review Abbey based on my recent experience. The entire team at Abbey were incredible, patient, kind and completely respectful. To enter a funeral home can be a very confronting experience but from the moment you step through the door your are surrounded by caring and kind staff. Nothing was too much trouble and all aspects of our final farewell were met with care and complete professionalism.

The team at Abby Funerals were a pleasure to deal with at such a difficult time. They listened and tended to even our smallest concerns and gave comforting direction to our family when we needed it the most. I would have no concerns in recommending Chris and his team to assist you with your loved ones. Thanks again

I have tried to communicate several times with this business but they just don’t answer. WRT my lack of awareness of graveside funeral procedures, order of service, not enough brochures, not enough seating, lack of book for signing, sudden change of time of service by abbey, the fact that I was told abbey wanted the guests to move asap to the dubbo safari room and recommended the memorial wake start at 12 noon without food or refreshments to guests (some are diabetic) A total all round gaffe

Do not even consider using Abbey funerals. Rude, difficult to connect with, my requested hymn and wishes were not used, not enough chairs (many of my family are elderly/ disabled). Bring your own chair. Not enough brochures printed. Graveside funeral disjointed, poorly organised. Memorial books were promised in an email by Chris for signing at the graveside funeral but this never happened. My family and friends thought it was the worst funeral they had ever attended (AND IT WAS MY SON!!!!) abbey funerals advised the 11am service needed to be brought forward to 10.30am (making it difficult for people to travel) Next the Abbey funeral home did not place an obituary in the newspaper which created a huge scene as I had to do it myself. James’s pet dog Odie passed away 18 months ago and I believe our family gave his Daschound a better sendoff than Abbey gave James Rich. They didnt even put James’s birthday on the cross!!! Just that he was 23. Don’t use this funeral service.
