How do you clean my flue?

Accepted Answer

We start by removing the internal baffle plate. We then go onto the roof and remove the hat at the top of the flue. Once removed we brush down the flue to loosen the creosote. We then go back into your home to access the flue and clean up the flue from inside the firebox. Once all the creosote is removed from the fire box, we re-install the baffle plate and tidy up any mess.

How long does a flue clean take?

Accepted Answer

Depending on access, single or double storey, roof pitch and the condition of the flue, it can take anywhere between 10 minutes and 1 hour generally speaking

How often should I have my flue cleaned?

Accepted Answer

We would recommend an annual flue clean to remove creosote from the flue. It is also possible to have bird nests and wasp nests in the flue after Spring which can be a fire hazard.

I need other items repaired to my fire, can you fix these while you attend to the flue?

Accepted Answer

We always carry out an inspection of the fire while attending for a flue clean. We will look to see if the fire is installed correctly and provide advise on possible corrections. We can carry out maintenance such as replacing door seals and bricks. Sometimes we may need to quote you on replacement parts and return at another visit to install these parts at a later date.

I am interested in getting a wood fire, do you provide free quotes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do provide free quotes in most circumstances. We can provide quotes sight unseen, or we can attend your home and carry out an inspection. Once we have provided a quote, if you are happy to proceed we ask for a 50% deposit so we can order in your fire and all the components needed. Once the fire is in stock we will contact you to arrange a time to install the fire in advance.

My old fire needs new parts, can you help?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can either attend to look at your fire and carry out an inspection or you can show us photos of the fire and discuss what parts you need. We will often need to know the Brand of the fire, the model number of the fire and dimensions of the fire box or parts you are seeking. Please check the details on the compliance plate at the back of your fire if you are unsure.

Do you sell Gas fires?

Yes, we sell a variety of gas fireplaces which are both suitable to natural or LPG gas. Our gas options include indoor and outdoor fireplaces.

Who will install or repair my fireplace?

Accepted Answer

All our installations are done in house by our local team. Where a gas installation is required, you will need to source a gas plumber. Any repairs and maintenance are also carried out by our local team. We do not outsource any work so you can rely on our team to take care of any warranty issues that may arise.

Can you come and clean my pool regularly?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our mobile team is currently servicing pools in the Singleton, Muswellbrook and Cessnock shire regions of the Hunter. We can attend on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Our mobile service team will manually vacuum your pool, brush the walls/floor, skim the surface, test the water and apply chemicals, empty the baskets, clean the filter/cell and adjust timers where required.

My pool has gone green, can you help me?

Accepted Answer

Yes, our mobile service team can attend to recover your pool. This may take a minimum of three onsite visits to recover, depending on the condition of the pool and how long it has been green for. We can also provide water testing in store and guidance on how to DIY recover your green pool. We will test the water and provide a step by step treatment plan.

I have never owned a pool before, what information can you provide to help me?

Accepted Answer

We can attend your home and provide a pool school where we show you how to clean your pool, filter and baskets. We can also show you how to use pool cleaners, timer functions and equipment so your pool runs efficiently. We can also provide water testing in store and advice from our helpful local team to guide you through all aspects of pool ownership.

My pool equipment has stopped working what should I do?

Accepted Answer

Often, problems can arise with pool equipment like pumps, chlorinators, filters and cleaners. Contact our team on 6572 2411 to discuss your problem in detail and we can provide advise or arrange for a service technician to attend your home and carry out any repairs that may be required.

We can provide the full range of Pool Magic chemicals to maintain water chemistry in a swimming pool or spa. We also sell LoChlor pool and spa chemicals.

How do i know what chemicals to put in my pool?

Accepted Answer

If you bring in a sample of your pool water, we can test this sample in store with the latest spin disc technology. We will provide you with a written treatment plan to follow which will include the chemicals needed to maintain a healthy swimming environment.

Help my pool has gone green after the rain, what can i do?

Accepted Answer

If you bring in a water sample, we can analyse the results and provide you with a treatment plan to rectify any water chemistry issues. An algaecide treatment may be required. We can assist you to perform a DIY treatment or our mobile services can come to you.

My pool is green, can you recover the pool?

Accepted Answer

Yes, please contact us to arrange the number of visits required to recover the pool. Typically, we will schedule three visits and some pools may require an inspection prior to starting the recovery process.

I always have a green pool after winter, can this be prevented?

Accepted Answer

We would recommend that your have the water tested and an algaecide treatment be added in winter to help prevent algae blooms in the warmer months. Adjustments to your chlorinator and water chemistry may also be required. See our staff for more information and an individual plan.

Question 22

I am wanting to purchase a property with a pool, can you attend to check the pool before i purchase the property?

Accepted Answer

Provided we have approval to access the pool, we can attend at a scheduled time and inspect the pool equipment, test the water chemistry and ensure that the pool does not have any major reportable concerns. We will provide you with a written report including images and identified issues.

Question 23

Can you inspect structural integrity of the pool?

Accepted Answer

Unless there is obvious visual obstruction of the pool structure or evidence of ozmosis, we are not able to provide a structural report.

Question 24

Can you detect leaks in the pool if we arrange a pre-purchase inspection?

Accepted Answer

In a pre-purchase inspection we can look for visual equipment leaks or evidence of water pooling. We cannot investigate structural leaks in a pool at a pre-purchase inspection.
