I am a local resident who tries to support local as often as possible, generally take partner and daughter (7) out for an easy meal once a fortnight. This will be the last time we utilise the services of the Beerwah Hotel and their dinner service. We have arrived at 5:45 pm to place our order early, we were the 2nd table to order in the establishment at this stage, order as follows: 1 kids meal fish and chips, 1 soup of the day, 1 rump (well done) w/chips and salad( ordered extra tomato -as usually salad comes with a sliver of tomato). Childs meal was delivered within 10 mins, as told by Roman( server/order taker - great attendant, delivers awesome service with great nature ), awesome so far. 45 minutes later, and after seeing 10-14 other patrons ( whom have placed orders well after us ), served their meals prior to us. Upon going to the service counter and enquiring as to the delay, i see my simple meal being handed over to service, by the apprentice chef, and note 1 slice of tomato ( despite specifically ordering extra tomato in the salad ), never fear cause Roman is on the job! He proceeds to tell said apprentice that there was a specific order of extra tomato, and that he required more than the sliver of tomato on the plate. This was met with much nashing of teeth and a surly look of contempt from said apprentice chef. 10 addiional minutes later, (55 mins since placing the 2ND!! order of the night ) i finally receive my meal, and my partner receives her soup of the day ( bring soup of the day i thought that they would have an ample amount of soup ready to go - my bad! ). Let me state that this review is not in regard to the quality of the meal, i and my family are always happy with the quality; what we are tired of it the laxadaisical/half-hearted attempts by the cooks, on delivering simple orders, within a decnt time frame; especially when we've turned up early to place our requests, only to, time and again, receive our meals well after many late comers. The service crew do a splendid job, but are held to the whims of the cooks/chefs/apprentices. As locals who try to spend money with local business, its time to let them know that we will take our money elsewhere from now on, as we are tired of being on the receiving end of this sort of response more often than not! Saddens me to have to take this step, but i am fed up with being taken for granted; and would hope that tourists venturing here will be spared this occurrence, which can spoil a simple time out. We are not asking for any special treatment, but we should expect to be served within a reasonable time frame, it is what is to be generally expected no?
