About Bio-Tack NZ

Are you a New Zealand local who owns horses or dogs? Are you sick and tired of constantly replacing leashes, collars or horse tack for your animals? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Here at Christchurch’s Bio-Tack NZ, we use Biothane, a durable and easy-to-maintain alternative to leather and nylon products. Biothane is entirely vegan, meaning no animals are harmed in production. This is another reason Biothane is a better option than leather, usually made from cow and sheep hides. Our Biothane products are cleaner, more comfortable, more affordable and more ethical than other dog or horse harness options. Better yet, everything we sell is completely customisable! With over 30 colours to choose from plus an extensive range of sizes to suit your pets, we’re confident we have exactly what you’re looking for. Although our pricing differs from order to order, generally: -Dog collars start from $29.00 incl. GST -Dog leashes start from $38.00 incl. GST -Full horse bridle sets start from $340.00 incl. GST We also make individual reins, nosebands, bow bands and more. Do you need something more specific? Call our team today on (021) 514 891 for a custom order. If it can be made from leather, we can make it from Biothane!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I clean my Biothane Dog Collar?

All that is needed is a bowl of warm soapy water and a cloth. No need to soak for a while, simply wet and wipe and you’re good to go again.

Is Biothane easy to repair?

Very easy, if a rivet breaks, it is simple to replace with a new one, no specialist tools required. If you dog chews on your lead, it can be fixed with a quick wave of a lighter and a gentle press of a finger.
