What does a podiatrist do?

Podiatry is an Allied Health profession working in the area of conditions in the foot, ankle and lower body, including ingrown toenails.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

No. However some circumstances will require a referral such as if your GP has recommended complex treatment or if you’re seeking work cover.

What do orthotics do?

Orthotics are in-shoe devices that are designed to alleviate pain and control foot and lower limb functions.

Is podiatry covered by private health insurance?
