Chargefox Charging Station

Chargefox was formed in 2017 from an initial conversation between Tim Washington (Founder and CEO of JET Charge), Mark Wells, CEO of Cogent, and Marty Andrews, who is a Co-Founder of Cogent and was the Managing Director at the time. Road transport accounted for about 15% of greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting the potential for EVs to make a big dent in Australia’s carbon emissions and make the world a cleaner place for the next generation. However, there was a chicken and egg scenario – EV adoption was slow, but it wouldn’t pick up unless charging infrastructure was available that allowed drivers to find, charge and pay for sessions easily. A need for better EV charging infrastructure – and innovative technology to support it – became obvious. Tim had extensive experience in the industry, while Marty had founded and grown one of Melbourne’s leading product led technology consultancies.
