Civil Mining & Construction (CMC)

This company was awarded a tender for a road upgrade where I live. They've made no efforts to minimise the impact of their work around the local residents impacted by the constant noise. They provide a 24 hour onsite number if you have issues which THEY NEVER ANSWER. They conduct work like sawing and drilling outside the legally permitted hours and instead of staging night road work in shorter blocks they run 5 consecutive nights week after week because its more CONVENIENT for them and if they finish the project ahead of schedule there's more profit in it for them. We often get less than a weeks notice that there will be 5 nights of night work or no notice at all. Very poor communication. Residents are missing work, losing their jobs, kids are missing school because from Sunday to Friday night there is intrusive noise. Its impossible to function on sleep. I would forewarn any govt department if you award this company a tender make sure you're clear in the contract that they need to balance the residents needs with their own greed !!!! Someone that's been suffering for over 12 months now due to this companies poor planning and total disregard for anyone but themselves.
