About Complete Speech Pathology

SERVICING the Coffs Coast and surrounding areas for Paediatric School age and Adult clients as well as Disability and Rehabilitation needs Our Aim is to provide you and your community with effective solutions to allow sufferers of swallowing, communication, speech and language disorders to live life to the full and to reach their fullest potential. Qualified Advanced Hanen Program therapist and trainer Speech pathologists study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speech, language, fluency and voice. They work with people who have difficulty communicating because of developmental delays, stroke, brain injuries, learning disability, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia and hearing loss, as well as other problems that can affect speech and language. People who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely can also be helped by a speech pathologists.

Assessment services.
Formal assessment and detailed informal observation of the client will be undertaken. Further consultation with other stakeholders is also an important part of assessment and this may include educators or medical professionals. Client/carer/parent report is a very valuable part of the assessment process and a detailed case history form will be completed prior to the assessment appointment.
Therapy and ongoing management.
The client/carer/parent are active participants in the therapy process under the guidance of the speech pathologist and possible multidisciplinary team members. Research supports that intensive therapy is often most successful however sessions and their frequency will be managed to best suit the needs and financial circumstances of each client's individual situation.
Therapy may include individual sessions, small group, education and training session, home programming and monitoring.
Parental/carer/family support is critical to the success of therapy. Working together can make all the difference.

Wendy has been fantastic guiding our adult autistic daughter through the layers of social communication. She beautifully elaborates on workarounds where before our daughter saw black and white barriers. We love how our beautiful daughter engages and becomes animated when Wendy starts a session.
