Easy Composter

EASY COMPOSTER Assisting the environment Nickel Engineering designed and started manufacturing the Easy Composter back in the mid 1980s at our factory in Brisbane. Most of the compost bins that were available at the time were static compost bins that sit on the ground and took weeks some times months to make compost and were difficult to empty. We were making hot water systems at the time and we were able to use some of the parts and come up with what I think is a better compost bin, easier to use and makes compost in just 14 days. The Easy Composter over its 25 years of manufacture has had a number of small changes not in the processing of compost but in the way of engineering. Late 2009 we developed a flat pack system which can be delivered Australia wide through Australia Post. The Easy Composter being a rotating compost bin fluffs up the composting material which allows air to flow through. That is where the Easy Composter comes into its own with a built in mixing bar which acts like a cement mixer and the incoming cooler air enters through a series of slots across the entire length of the barrel and that all adds up to making great sweet smelling compost. The air vents create air flow that is needed to activate the high temperature micro organisms which in turn generate up to approx 60 degrees which kills off unwanted weeds and bacteria.
