About Edelweiss Dance Group Cairns
Edelweiss Dance Group specialises in Bavarian schuhplattlers and folk dances and has been performing in Cairns and surrounding areas since 1989. The dancers, aged from 25 to 55, have a shared passion for dance and appreciation for this traditional style of cultural folk dance. Edelweiss boasts a dance repertoire of over 30 entertaining routines made up of energetic folk dances, schuhplattlers and a small number of contemporary routines. Edelweiss is a not-for-profit community dance group established by Gunther Kremser. There are no dance fees and no individual is financially rewarded.
