Yes, as a health care service, we are an essential service. This means we can continue trading during any COVID-19 lockdowns. We take all possible precautions to help prevent transmission while still helping the community.

We provide physiotherapy and massage therapy services.

What are your qualifications?

Accepted Answer

Our physiotherapists all have a degree in physiotherapy and are registered under AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency). Our massage therapists have a Diploma of Remedial Massage.

Do you have a pregnancy pillow?

Yes, we have a special pillow that sits on top of our regular massage tables. It has plenty of space for bub and our pregnant mums often wish they could visit every day just to lie on the pillow!

What is involved in pregnancy massage?

Your female massage therapist will work on any area that is troubling you. Most commonly, women come in for pain and tension around the pelvic and lower back region. We have a special pillow so you can lie face down with comfort to get the most out of your massage.

What areas do you work on in a remedial massage?

This is completely up to you! At the start of your appointment, your massage therapist will ask you if you would like to focus on any particular area or if you would like a full body massage.

What is remedial massage?

Remedial massage is a form of massage that involves muscle manipulation to relieve pain and tightness. Every massage therapist has different techniques and can tailor the massage to suit you. It can be quite deep or more gentle, depending on your preference.

Is remedial massage painful?

Accepted Answer

Again, massage can be tailored to the individual. There is often some soreness if the massage is being done on a very tight area or in a place you have been experiencing pain. This does not mean that it must be excruciating though! Your massage therapist will communicate with you during the treatment and you should always let them know if the massage is too painful or too light.

What does a Women's Health physio treat?

Women's health physio focuses around the pelvic region. Women may attend for problems associated with child birth, incontinence, pain with sex, urinary frequency or urgency, pelvic pain and more.

Does a Women's Health appointment include an internal examination?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the problem you are coming for and also your personal preference. There is never any pressure for a client to have an internal examination if they do not feel comfortable. While it can be very helpful in terms of assessment and treatment, there is much that can be done without an internal assessment.

Are your Women's Health consultations private?

Yes. The session is a one on one with our female physiotherapist. It is held in one of our private massage rooms, so you can feel comfortable and safe.

What is dry needling?

Accepted Answer

Dry needling is the practice of inserting very fine needles in to the body either into or over a muscle. It is used by our physios and massage therapists to help relieve pain and muscle tension, drain swelling from acute injuries and promote healing.

Is dry needling different from acupuncture?

Accepted Answer

Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and follows that same rationale. Dry needling is based on the Western Medicine understanding of physiology. Many similar points may be used and techniques may vary somewhat between the two, but both include the insertion of needles to promote health and healing.

Does dry needling hurt?

This can be quite variable, depending on the style of needling used and the location of the needles. Often, our clients feel only a small tap or prick on the skin as the needle is inserted. Once the needle is in, there is normally no discomfort. If a trigger point is being needled, patients often feel a "twitch" sensation, but this is very short lived. Speak to your therapist for more info.

What qualifications do your massage therapists have?

Our massage therapists have completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy. They also do ongoing professional development each year to grow their skills, so they each have different additional certificates and skills.

Do your massage therapists also do dry needling and cupping?

What kind of conditions do you treat?

Physios treat a wide range of conditions. We treat pain and movement restrictions in all of the muscles and joints in the body. Our physios treat everything from sporting injuries, to compensation injuries, falls prevention, fracture management, dance assessments, headaches, growing pains and much more!

Do your physios do hands on treatment?

The short answer is yes! We find manual therapy to be an important part of the recovery process. Having said that, manual therapy is definitely not the only treatment you will receive with our physios. Physio should always be a balance of hands on, education, exercise and activity modifications.
