Fishtales Cafe

If you own a fish and chip shop on the coast, take afew notes 📝 when you visit this place. We had fish and chips. But, they said there chicken was great. It wasn't great, it was totally awesome 👏 portion size is awesome too. Many fish and chip places you get your meal and you look at it and say to yourself, is the rest arriving by an uber. Finally!!! A great fish and chip shop on the coast. I’ve been here a lot over the last few months and I can honestly say the food never disappoints. The big fella who greeted us on arrival was hilarious, such a friendly vibe. I’m a huge fan of the battered scallops. Awesome to see a large selection of salads . My son being vegetarian loves it. Fantastic location . Couldn’t recommend it enough 😉

Great location , right near the Lilyponds. Well established with previous owner. New owners, we have been going here since 2013, always good reliable food and friendly service. Since the change of hands, the new owners were trying to get things right, put there own mark on this iconic cafe. But they are very inconsistent with the fish etc. They are improving the premises, and offering more selection. I just wish they would get the cooking right. It was great for a week, then new chef, and food was very overcooked, and a little disappointing. I couldn’t eat what I ordered, so overcooked.

Highly recommended, in fact, we prefer to make the drive to this hinterland establishment (35-40 min drive) instead of the greasy seaside fish and chips locally on the coast.
