The work was done well, and quickly. The guys who came were good, and the initial quote reasonable. Work was for an outdoor outlet to be replaced, the guys let me know it wasn't a standard outlet so to replace it would be costly, so opted to stick with the standard one they brought (and quoted). However on the second call I was told I'd need two installed, side by side. When I asked how much extra I was told only the cost of the extra outlet. I received the bill and it had extra labour tacked on bringing it to over $200 labour for less then an hours work. They're rates are $130.62 an hour, but fter a number of emails and phone calls they're only response to the additional labour charge was because there was additional work. We won't be using them again because of this.

Hey Elaine, Thank you for your feedback on our service, we appreciate you providing it and having the chance to clarify your points. We were initially requested to provide a quote to replace one standard 10A Clipsal weatherproof power point, we provided the quote which was approved and scheduled the work. Upon arriving we identified that the weatherproof power point was a 56 series Clipsal industrial type 10A power point and that there were two, not one. Our technician advised before proceeding that there would be additional costs to the quoted works as the fitting was a much more expensive type than we were advised. The technician also gave options to replace with a standard type or the industrial type but if the standard type was used that there would be penetrations showing in the wall as the standard type fittings have a smaller profile. You requested to have both power points replaced with standard weatherproof power points and the additional cost to replace the second power point including labour and material was $118. The additional cost was not for another hours labour but rather the labour and materials required to complete the work. Our hourly rate is $130+GST. We could have helped with providing the full cost up front in the initial quote had we been provided with more accurate information. I hope this helps clarify your query, thank you again for your feedback.

Firstly, the electrician arrived 20 minutes late and even when he arrived he spent more time outside on his phone before even entering our home to start the work. This was a normal work day, normal time and non emergency or call out yet when I queried the extra labour charge I was told by Alex Florance himself that I also needed to pay for travel time and any after the job "paperwork" needed at their rate of $130/hr. Then they require payment within 3 days or huge penalties are applied. Beware!!

Hi Ken, thank you for your feedback. All charges in regard to your job were advised upfront. We provide information via the phone when making the booking and also in a booking confirmation email explaining how we charge and that travel time is included. Further, the job was quoted so the costs were known excluding variation works that were requested onsite in addition to the quoted works prior to our attendance. We try our best to communicate well and advise of all things required to our clients.

10/10. Florance Electrical replaced our 20-year-old gate opener with a new internet-connected model. They have great attention to detail and are super responsive.
