Emergency Healthcare when you need it most. The Friendlies Emergency Department, located at the Friendly Society Private Hospital Woondooma Street entrance, is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm. When you choose The Friendlies you are choosing: Specialist-led emergency department Accredited Level 4 emergency department Experienced professionals with advanced training in emergency care New state-of-the-art facility Leading-edge medical technology It is easy to choose The Friendlies Emergency Department, as no appointment, referral or private health insurance is required, however, a gap fee may be payable (see our FAQs for more information) The Friendlies Emergency Department is led by experienced and compassionate emergency specialists, backed up by our emergency team who are trained in providing both adult and paediatric emergency services. Wait times are usually minimal, and we can send a discharge letter to your GP, so you can be assured of continuity of care. You will also receive a follow-up phone call the next day. Patients requiring an ambulance may be able to be brought directly to The Friendlies, simply by indicating their choice of hospital to the Queensland Ambulance Service.
