How do I know which treatment is best for me?

At the initial consultation Dr Hunter will take a thorough history and examine your legs. An ultrasound scan may be recommended to define the precise problem with your veins. Treatment options will then be discussed in detail and the appropriate management will be recommended.

Will my veins come back?

Treated correctly, veins should not come back, however over time new veins may develop in similar or new locations as the underlying tendency to form varicose or spider veins cannot be changed. These recurrent veins can also be treated. Factors which may prevent or delay the recurrence of veins include maintenance of a normal body weight, regular exercise and the use of compression stockings.

About Hunter Vein Clinic–Dr Naomi Hunter

Dr. Naomi Hunter graduated in medicine from the University of Newcastle in 1985. She completed her internship and residency at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, before completing a paediatric residency at the Mater Hospital in Newcastle. In 1989 she founded the "Newcastle Vein Clinic" which quickly became a large and successful phlebology practice. In February 2006 she commenced her new practice, "Hunter Vein Clinic". Dr. Naomi Hunter has performed approximately 25,000 treatments on 10,000 patients over this time which means she has given (a conservative estimate of) 500,000 actual injections! As a sufferer of varicose veins herself, Dr. Hunter takes an active interest in the treatment of varicose veins and new developments in the field.
