I have bought lots of Jabula Roses in the past and had been happy with them. But when the business was sold their website disappeared and I thought maybe the Jabula Roses era had come to an end. So on telephoning them I found out they were still selling roses and that they didn’t want or need a website. I subsequently phoned on a Friday and ordered 2 bunches for pick up on Monday thinking I would get freshly cut roses from this rose farm. On the following Monday the roses looked fine when I collected them but on getting home I notices that the cut stems were not fresh pale green as they should be, but they were almost black and the leaves were showing signs of freezer burn. I stripped most of the horrible looking leaves and on day one apart from the leaves, the roses looked fine in a vase. On day three they again looked fine and were starting to open. On day four they showed signs of going soft & wilting and on day five instead of having a vase of roses in bloom, the photo tells it all

The roses are beautiful and last for ages. Visiting the farm to buy them is a great experience, the people are so friendly and welcoming. I like to support our local growers and producers so I always buy whatever produce is going on the farm; like honey and tomatoes. I usually combine a visit to Jabula Roses with a drive into Palmwoods for a coffee or burger. It’s a great little village.
